LHIN seeking feedback about new CKHA board

The Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is seeking feedback about the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s new board of directors.

LHIN officials say their board has received a notice of voluntary integration from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

The LHIN board is inviting interested people in the public and or other stakeholders to provide written feedback on the proposed integration.

The LHIN will examine the written feedback in its determination of whether the voluntary integration is in the public interest, officials say.

Written comment may be submitted in a variety of ways, including:

– Online survey available, here.

– Mail or drop off submissions to: Erie St. Clair LHIN, 180 Riverview Dr., Chatham, ON N7M 5Z8 Attention: Shannon Sasseville, Communications Director

– Written submissions must be received by the Erie St. Clair LHIN no later than December 17, 2017.

Background

Rob Devitt, the provincially appointed supervisor for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, recently released his governance plan for the Alliance’s future.

LHIN officials say there is a commitment to a two-site model, with both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites remaining strong, viable, and under one governance structure.

The one hospital board will be comprised of people with the necessary skills to provide oversight and meet their accountabilities.

The proposed board will be 12 voting members and will be selected by Devitt, with the assistance of an executive search firm. A committee, made up of three members of the public, one member of the Rural Health Advisory Committee, medical staff leaders, and CEO Lori Marshall, will advise.
