Punch leads to assault charge in Wallaceburg

An alleged punch has led to assault charged for a Wallaceburg man.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on Wednesday, November 29, at 12:30 a.m. a man allegedly confronted another male about some tools he thought he had.

Their brief discussion ended and the man punched the other male in the face, police allege.

Police were called and an officer observed the male to have an injury on his face, however, medical attention was not required.

Attempts to locate the man were unsuccessful and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Thursday night at 9 p.m. a 27-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with a court date of December 22, 2017.
