There is still time to wow that creative person on your Christmas list with a Chalk Paint Workshop or a ‘Girl’s Night Out’ workshop at Home & Cottage Interiors.
The Chalk Paint Workshops include hands on training of several of the Annie Sloan painting techniques.
Diane Galvin, store manager, is a certified Annie Sloan Stockist which means that she has been fully trained in all of the techniques.
“I had to attend a week long training session in North Carolina before I could even place my first order of the world famous Annie Sloan Chalk Paint,” Galvin said.
“Since then, I have been to training in New Orleans twice and once in Kitchener with Annie Sloan herself. I plan to attend more training in New Orleans again this coming February. The more I learn, the more I realize there is to learn.”
But when asked how difficult it is to learn how to use this paint, she insists that it is pretty easy
to get expert results right away.
“If you just want a solid colour or simple distressing, it’s very user friendly,” Galvin said.
“There are so many more amazing techniques and looks you can create with this paint. The possibilities are endless.”
Home and Cottage Interiors also offers private parties for groups of four or more in which they can do one of several projects including: custom signs, trays and even 24″ fully functioning clocks.
Last week a man bought four gift Certificates to give to the women in his family that he thought
would really enjoy an activity like this together.
“He even said, ‘I’m giving them a Girl’s Night Out’ for Christmas,” Galvin said.
“What a great idea for all those people who have everything they need or want. I think quality time spent with the people you love is one of the most valuable things we can give or get.”
Home & Cottage Interiors also sells Chalk PaintTM Mini Project Packs which include two paint colours and a clear and a dark wax as well as an Annie Sloan Paint Brush.
You can pick the two colours for your pack and as long as the bottles are not opened the recipient may exchange them for different colours after Christmas.
“This is a great way to get started and it’s enough supplies to complete a few small projects,” Galvin said.

Everything in stock is now 25% off (except the Annie Sloan products) and the store is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
They will be closed for Christmas from Sunday, December 24 until Wednesday, December 28.
