Letter: 1-million thank-you’s

(Dana Haggith)

The snow and winter chill was no match for the hearts involved in ‘giving back’ this holiday season as we witnessed in Wallaceburg during our ‘Chevy Cruise.’

We would like to thank all of those who helped make it a success by participating and/or donating.

Jennifer, a customer service representative at the Municipality of Chatham Kent for the quick approvals.

Sgt. Jim for providing us with a police escort.

Lisa at Myers Insurance, Trisha at Copy Express, Cheryl from CK Spices/Morning Glory for the amazing cake.

All thoughtful and loving people who donated, no matter how big or small.

Even the local cab driver who dropped off 5 bucks at the cruise, that was kind of you.

No Frills for matching our personal donation.

Zuidema’s for their generous donation of PC Gift Cards.

Our local Christmas carolers, Lisa and her girls, Donna K, Donna G, Sheryl, Fabrienne, Dana Haggith.

Jim and Janet Barnes’ Silverado, complete with a custom bench made by Jim for the carolers.

Sister Lisa, the Chevy Cruisers, James Bolos and the James Street Eatery team for hosting and donating.

Also, to James for offering all of his editing skills.

Sherri DeWolf, for her Facebook assistance.

Dawne Mudford and her ‘furry family’ for the photo shoot.

John and his team Riverview Automotive, for their Chevy entries and for starting the Silverado on it’s long journey 20 years ago.

A special thanks as well for getting the ball rolling with Sarah from Oshawa and the GMC Chevy branding team.

A super special thank-you to Chevrolet for sending Michael down with a Silverado truckload of non-perishables for our local food bank and to the McCann camera/video crew James, Chris and Jess representing GMC/Chevrolet who drove down from Toronto to capture and document the whole thing.

To our local newspaper media, the Courier Press and Sydenham Current and radio station 99.1 for plugs and coverage… great job.

Mark and Captain Karen at the Salvation Army and the volunteers who unloaded both these Chevy’s and prepared for distribution to all those in need in our area.

It was a fun-filled, impactful event.

Also, way to go Jayce on racking up all those million Chevy kilometres.

High fives, hugs and a very Merry Christmas to all.
