Mr Douglas “Doug” Arends, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, “Sydenham Campus”, in Wallaceburg, at the age of 54 years .
Douglas was born in Wallaceburg and is a loving son of William “Bill” Arends and the late Shirley Arends (2011). Kind brother of John Arends, David (Genny Collier) Arends, Jason (Elizabeth) Arends and Anne Marie (David Cook) Arends. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Jessica (Jason) Howes, Kathleen (Trevor) Williams, Danielle Beaudoin, Lee Arends, Victoria Arends, Anthony (Jesse) Clark, Matthew (Dana Szaflarski) Clark, Allison (Collin Dishman) Clark, Tyler Cook and great nieces and nephews, Lee, Anntoine, Alexis, Tucker, Maeve and Carson. Sadly missed by his aunts and uncles, Ed, Petra, Tine, Ruth, Arlene and Murray.
Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. Funeral Services will follow from the chapel of the funeral home at 4 p.m.
Cremation will follow with the interment of ashes at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
