Tartans tops Patriotes in senior boys basketball

Eric Powers scored 21 points and Gabe Namink added 11, as the Wallaceburg Tartans senior boys basketball team topped the Pain Court Patriotes, 63-20.

The Tartans are now 2-2 on the season, good for 4th in the LKSSAA Tier 2 Division.

In other senior boys action, the undefeated McGregor Panthers topped the Lambton-Kent Cardinals 61-31.

In junior boys hoops, the Panther topped the Cardinals, 63-32.

Carter Covemacker scored 9 points, while Miguel Antunes and Mike Knowler each scored four points.

Lakers fall to Essex

The Wallaceburg Lakers fell to the first place Essex 73’s on Tuesday night, 3-0.

Patrick Timpany made 46 saves in the loss, as Wallaceburg was out-shot, 49-11.

Timpany was named as the 3rd star of the game for his effort.

The Lakers will turn around and host the 3rd place Lakeshore Canadiens on Wednesday night in Wallaceburg.

Puck drops at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena at 7:30 p.m.

Wallaceburg Minor Baseball is holding registration this month at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

Registration dates are setup for Saturday, January 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, January 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, January 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
