Failing to attend court leads to arrest in Wallaceburg

Failing to attend court had led to the arrest of a Wallaceburg woman.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on December 6, 2017 a woman was released from custody for the offences of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

Police say she was required to attend court on December 29, 2017, but allegedly failed to do so.

A warrant was then issued for her arrest.

Last night at 9 p.m., police say the 34-year-old Wallaceburg woman was located on Dufferin Avenue, arrested on the warrant and charged with failing to attend court.

She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she has been held for a bail hearing.
