Dresden man faces impaired driving charges

A Dresden man faces impaired driving charges after a traffic stop early this morning.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say early this morning, around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to an establishment in downtown Chatham in regards to an intoxicated man.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the man had left the bar driving a red Ford F-150 truck, police allege.

An officer patrolling the area, located the man driving on Park Avenue East and a traffic stop was initiated near Maple Leaf Drive.

Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested, police say.

The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

The 46-year-old Dresden man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

His license has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

He will be released when sober pending a future court date.

  1. Police allege? So there is a chance that there was NO truck? Or it wasn’t red? Or or or…
Let’s do away with the word “allege’ IF THEY CAUGHT ‘EEM IN THE RED TRUCK THEN IT BECOME A FACT.
And whatever happened to publishing the names of the damned? Shame is probably more effective in curbing petty crime than petty cash.
    Odor… odor in this court.
