It’s Throwback Thursday once again!

Here is an old photograph of the aerial view of the Canada and Dominion Sugar Factory on West Wallace Street in 1920.

According to the Southwestern Ontario Digital Archive, the Sugar Factory in Wallaceburg was built in 1901, in the same year that sugar factories in Dresden, Berlin (Kitchener) and Wiarton were built. The factories in Dresden and Wiarton closed in 1907, and the Wallaceburg Sugar Company acquired the Kitchener plant to became the Dominion Sugar Company.

Thanks to the Wallaceburg & District Museum for the photograph!
