The Dresden Kings are in an 0-2 hole in their Provincial Junior Hockey League playoff series against the Essex 73’s.
The 73’s thumped the Kings on Tuesday by a score of 7-1 in Game #2 of their best-of-seven series.
Derek Shaw scored the only goal for Dresden.
Brendan Johnston allowed 5 goals on 23 shots before being replaced by back-up goalie Cody Hitchcock in the second period. Hitchcock stopped 15 of the 17 shots he faced in 33 minutes of action.
Essex won Game #1 on Monday night in Dresden by score of 5-2.
Noah Fox and Nolan Ross scored the two goals for the Kings.
Johnston made 19 saves on 23 shots in the loss.
Game #3 is set to take place in Dresden on Friday night.
