The Dresden Kings are in an 0-2 hole in their Provincial Junior Hockey League playoff series against the Essex 73’s. The 73’s thumped the Kings on Tuesday by a score of 7-1 in Game #2 of their best-of-seven series. Derek Shaw scored the only goal for Dresden. Brendan Johnston allowed 5 goals on 23 shots before being replaced by back-up goalie Cody Hitchcock in the second period. Hitchcock stopped 15 of the 17 shots he faced in 33 minutes of action. Essex won Game #1 on Monday night in Dresden by score of 5-2. Noah Fox and Nolan Ross scored the two goals for the Kings. Game #3 is set to take place in Dresden on Friday night. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Another successful Frank Dymock Classic is in the books. Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association officials say it was their 10th year holding the tournament and it was bigger than ever, as 32 team, 26 from outside of Wallaceburg, were registered for the tournament.

The Langton Leafs LL1 squad won the the Novice Divisions. The Waterford Wildcats LL1 captured the Atom Division. The London Bandits A6 team captured the Peewee crown. And the Mitchell Meteors LL1 squad beat the Wallaceburg Lakers TC2 in the Bantam final.
