‘The Ladies Foursome’ auditions being held

Auditions are set to take place at the Wallaceburg and District Museum this weekend for a performance of ‘The Ladies Foursome’.

“This play was chosen because it is an excellent wonderfully funny script, with a small cast and simple set,” said Dan White, who is directing the performance.

“The Ladies Foursome is a script by prolific Canadian playwright Norm Foster written in 2015 as a partner piece to the original Foursome. The day after their friend Catherine’s funeral, Margot, Tate, and Connie gather for a round of golf in honour of their recently departed fourth. At the golf course they are joined by another woman, an old friend of Catherine’s they’d never met.”

White added: “Over the course of eighteen holes, secrets and confessions unravel as the women discuss love, sex, children, and everything in between.”

Anyone interested in taking part in this comedy performance are encouraged to attend the auditions, which is scheduled for Sunday, March 4, in the Jeanne Gordon Hall above the Museum, at 1 p.m.

Women aged 25 and older are invited to audition for this performance.

No acting or golf experience is necessary.

This production is being presented by Glass Town Players;, a local organization started to utilize the theatre on site and to raise funds for museum operations.

White said he has been directing for about 35 years and has directed close to 100 productions for various theatre companies in the Sarnia area.

He recently retired from a 31-year career, teaching mostly theatre arts at Sarnia Collegiate.

Him and his wife moved to Wallaceburg, his wife’s hometown, after getting married this past summer.

White said he was originally planning on holding a performance of ‘The Foursome’ but only three males showed up for the auditions.
