Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith was recalled by the Buffalo Sabres this week from the Rochester Americans (AHL). Griffith skated with the Sabres in their 2-1 won over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday. After starting the season with three points (2 goals and 1 assists) in 18 games with the Sabres, Griffith now ranks second among Amerks players with 34 points (13 goals and 21 assists) in 36 games. The Sabres are set to play Griffith’s former club the Florida Panthers on Saturday night.

The season is over for the Dresden Junior Kings. Down 3-2 in their best-of-seven Provincial Junior Hockey League series against the 73’s, the Kings entered Tuesday’s game hoping to force a Game #7 in the series. However, the Kings fell in Essex by a score of 5-1. Aidan Lachine scored the lone goal for the Kings.

Wallaceburg Tartan swimmers Emily Tapp and Shona Branton competed in the OFSAA championships this week in Windsor. Tapp finished with a 15th overall ranking in the province, while Branton finished 4th in the Open 100m breast. The meet involved 368 schools and 2,600 participants.
