Joan Day of Walpole Island First Nation

Joan Day of Walpole Island First Nation and formerly of Detroit, passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital Oullette Campus on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the age of 79.

Joan is the daughter of the late John Lewis & Lelah Rita (Sands) Ermatinger. Beloved wife of the late Floyd Day. Loving mother of Mark Day (Brenda), John ‘Emile’ Denison, Vera Mae Kidd and the late Gina Marie LaValley. Dear grandmother of Terese, James, Chris, Kristy, Lavina, William, Joshua, Lisa, Marcel, Sonya, Steven, Zacharia, Sabrina, Rodney, Naomi, Noah, Elijah, Daniel, the late Jacob and great grandmother of 24 great grandchildren. Sister of the late Harvey Ermatinger. Best friend of Natalie Kewayosh.

Joan graduated from Wayne State College of Life Long Learning in 1987. “Love Never Dies”.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 7-9 PM on Monday. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 6 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 422 Elgin Street (at Duncan) in Wallaceburg.
