Investigation launched after a fire in Wallaceburg

An investigation has been launched after an early morning fire in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services tweeted that the blaze on Reaume Avenue is under investigation and the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management have been notified.

Fire officials say crews from Station #3 in Wallaceburg and Station #2 in Chatham responded to the blaze just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7.

There is no damage estimate or cause at this time.

Sources say the fire ignited at one of the Kinsmen Court apartments, located at 4 Reaume Ave.

Whitney Burk, public educator, told the Sydenham Current she is waiting to hear from senior fire officials before releasing any more information.
