Maroons top Nationals in OT, honour Houston with decal

The Chatham Maroons honoured one of their all-time greats on Wednesday night.

The Junior ‘B’ team also took care of business on the ice, topping the London Nationals in the opening game of their semi-final series, 5-4 in double overtime.

Bryce Yetman scored the game winner at the 1:47 mark of double OT.

Grant Spence, Dane Johnstone, Noah Bushnell and Dakota Bohn also scored for Chatham.

Game #2 is set for Saturday in London.

The Maroons sported a special decal on their helmets in honour of the late Ken Houston.

Ken Houston, who played nine seasons in the National Hockey League, died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 10, with his family by his side.

He was 64.

His funeral is being held on Friday at 12 p.m. at the John D. Bradley Centre, 565 Richmond Street, Chatham.

A private family interment is being held in the Dresden Cemetery.
