Update: Fire Marshal investigating Highbury blaze

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management has been notified and is investigating after a blaze at 79 Highbury Cr. in Wallaceburg on Tuesday night.

“Firefighters from Stations #3 in Wallaceburg were responding to a vehicle fire at 208 King St. when the call came in, just after 9 p.m. yesterday evening,” Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services officials said in a press release.

“Station # 3 – Wallaceburg, career and volunteer firefighters with assistance from Station #1 & #2 – Chatham completed an offensive attack, protecting surrounding homes from the large flames and extinguishing the fire.”

There were no injuries, fire officials said.

“Police and EMS were on scene and the OFMEM has been called to assist in determining the cause of the fire.”
