Chatham-Kent releases annual ‘Sunshine List’

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has released their annual ‘Sunshine List’.

The list of Chatham-Kent employees earning more than $100,000 increased to 228 in 2017.

Under the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, organizations that receive funding from the province are required to list employees who earn $100,000 or more annually.

In 2016, the number of employees earning $100,000 or more was 184.

The 2017 list includes 126 members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service and 43 members of the Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services.

“It should be noted,” stated Cathy Hoffman, general manager, corporate services/chief human resources officer,
“that the Consumer Price Index has not been applied to the reporting process since its inception in 1996, which would otherwise have put the reporting level at $148,299 in 2017. At this level, Chatham-Kent would have 14 names on the list.”
