It’s Throwback Thursday once again!

Here is an old photograph of the Wallaceburg Post Office Clock Tower in 1942.

The building is the current location for Clock Tower Dental Centre.

According to Clock Tower Dental, the Clock Tower was built in 1935, during the Great Depression, as a Dominion Public Building.

It was originally home to the Post office and Federal Customs and Excise.

In 1968 The Clock Tower was converted into the Wallaceburg Police station, with administration upstairs and a jail in the basement.

The Police headquarters were moved to the other end of James Street and the building sat empty in the late 1990’s.

Dr. Kevin Fast purchased it to build a dental office in 2001. After extensive renovations, the Clock Tower Dental Centre opened in 2002.

Thanks to the Wallaceburg & District Museum for the photograph!
