Sophia Vanderkley of Wallaceburg

Sophia Anna Dorothea Vanderkley (Ladru) a resident of Wallaceburg, died of a broken heart, in hospital in Chatham on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the age of 86, 26 days after the love of her life Harm passed away.

Sophia is the daughter of the late Annea and Joop Ladru. Loving mother of Roland Vanderkley (Tami Debot) and Jacqueline Janssens (Scott). Dear grandmother of Derrick (Kristin), Trevor (Lavahn), Corey and Carley and great grandmother of Brayden, Xavier, Ryatt, Emerson and Layla. Predeceased by her niece and nephew and husband Harm Vanderkley.

Sophia was awesome, fun,kind, caring and a loving mom.

She enjoyed yoga, reading, word searches, shopping, sewing (in younger years she was a seamstress for royal Dutch family), knitting, cross stitch, cooking, baking, travelling, listening to ABBA, playing ping pong and badminton with her kids, family outings to the beach, and doting on her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her true love Harm. Sophia and Harm were married for 63 years, were devoted to their family, created a loving and nurturing home and many wonderful cherished memories.

A private family visiting and burial will be held. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.
