It was another record year for the Community Living Wallaceburg Box Lunch fundraiser.
Alicia Allaer, communications & fund development associate, says a total of 2,169 lunches were served across the community on Thursday for their 18th annual event.
“It was amazing, it was a record,” Allaer said.
“Last year we hit 1,898 and we thought wow that was awesome. So we said, you know what, let’s make it 2,000 this year. 2,000 came and went and they continued to come in. We literally had an order last night, asking if they could add another sandwich to their lunch order. It has been awesome.”
Allaer said approximately 60 people volunteered for the event.
