Alleged impaired driver crashes into ambulance

A Chatham woman faces impaired driving charges after allegedly crashing into an ambulance.

Chatham-Kent Police Servicer officials say on Tuesday just before 4 p.m. officers responded to a two vehicle collision between an ambulance and motor vehicle in the area of McNaughton Ave. E. in Chatham.

No one was injured and the vehicles sustained minimal damage, police say.

Police allege through investigation, police believed the woman at fault for the collision, was driving while under the influence of alcohol and she was arrested.

The woman was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 59-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

She was released pending a future court date of May 16, 2018.
