Stolen truck located, investigation on-going after ‘high risk’ stop

A stolen truck was located and four people were brought into custody after a ‘high risk’ stop in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege that on Thursday morning, around 8:30 a.m. a 2017 silver Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from a parking lot on Queen Street North in Tilbury.

About an hour later, officers located the truck in the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham, police say.

For public safety, officers conducted a high risk vehicle stop and all four occupants were taken into custody, police officials said in a media release.

One female youth was released unconditionally.

Another female youth and two adult men remain in custody as officers continue their investigation.
