Wallaceburg Lions Club collecting ‘e-waste’

The Lions Club is collecting e-waste this weekend in Wallaceburg.

Hugo Ramos, a club member, said the Lions are collecting the items as a fundraiser through Recycle My Electronics.

“Old T.V.’s, old computers, old laptops, old recording devices, old telephones,” he said.

“All of those machines don’t have to be in working order.”

The group will be at the Sydenham Curling Club this weekend, May 5 and 6, during a ‘home show’ taking place at the 7379 North River Line location.

Ramos said people can swing by between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

“It’s to collect funds for emergencies in town,” Ramos said.

“We’re hoping to fill up a whole container, maybe two this year. By doing that, they give us money. We will have a chance to make some good money for the community.”

Anyone who can’t make it this weekend, can call 519-626-8825.

“You can call that number and we can come and get it at your place,” he said.

He mentioned that other dates/locations are in the works for people to come and drop off their items.

Here is a list of acceptable items to drop off:
