Elisabeth ‘Putt’ Blackbird, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, died peacefully at Bluewater Health in Sarnia on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the age of 64.
Elisabeth is the daughter of James Kicknosway Sr. and the late Nellevena. Predeceased by her beloved husband Lester. Loving mother of Destiny Blackbird (Jarrod Thomas). Dear grandmother of Dorian, Eagle and Pierce. Sister of James ‘Jamie’, Everett, Tony and Vinny Kicknosway. Elisabeth was the foster mother of her nephews Gary and Ron plus 25 other children over the years.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 7-9 PM on Monday and Tuesday night. The funeral will be celebrated at the Evangelistic Centre, 156 Dan Shab Road, Walpole Island, on Wednesday, May 9 at 1 PM.
