Chatham-Kent’s new animal shelter is $5,000 closer to its goal thanks to the Cat Walk fashion show held at the Ten-Seven Café and Lounge Friday night.

Local models previewed clothing from Get It On and Gentry Manor supplied by Thomas Smith and James Lizotte and jewellery from Affinity Jewellers provided by Brent Denure.

More than 100 people attended the event.

The shelter is nearing its $1.5 million fundraising goal and construction is tentatively slated to begin this fall. The facility will be built on property adjacent to the current shelter on Park Ave. East.
