Mother’s Day is on Sunday. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Mom’s out there!

The candidates in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex for the Ontario election are being invited to a debate in Wallaceburg. The focus of the all-candidates debate will be health care. The event is being held on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 18, located at 52 Margaret Ave. in Wallaceburg. Election day is June 7.

The Lambton-Kent Composite School Plant Sale continues on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Geraniums, Purple Fountain Grass and Vertigo are for sale. Proceeds go toward the LKCS greenhouse.

Wallaceburg Museum in association with Act II Productions presents “The Ladies Foursome” a comedy play by Norm Foster, directed by Dan White at the Jeanne Gordon Hall. A couple more performances will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. Call 519 627-8962 for tickets.

The 25th annual Tartan Tinman Triathlon will be held on May 17. The swim, bike and running event will be held at Wallaceburg’s high school.

The Foundation of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is inviting people to ‘The Final Push’ event taking place May 23 at 7 a.m. at Wallaceburg hospital site. They are also encouraged to ride along with Dave Depencier and Dan Van Moorsel as they return into Chatham-Kent on May 28, after their 6-day, 1,000 km bike ride from C-K to Toronto and back. They are hoping to raise $100,000 for new diagnostic imaging equipment.

And finally… the Dresden Spring Smash Demolition Derby is being held at the Dresden fair grounds on May 20. More details are available at www.dresdenex.com.
