Dylan McLay is running for council in North Kent

Tuperville’s Dylan McLay is running for council in Ward 4 – North Kent.

McLay, who was born and raised in Niagara on the Lake, filed his nominations papers on Monday, May 14.

He works as a dining services manager in the seniors housing industry.

McLay says he is running for Chatham-Kent council “in order to be part of the leadership that will drive to make
Chatham-Kent a destination to live, work and play.

“Growing our community programs for children and seniors are very important,” he said in a media release.

McLay added that he would like to see the local economy broaden its range to create new industry interests and is only interested in doing what is best and right for the people of Chatham-Kent and Ward 4 -North Kent.

He currently sits on the board of governors for Shiners Hospitals for Children in Erie, Pennsylvania, is on the board of Directors for MOCHA Shriners in London and is currently the president of the Kent Kennel Club.

McLay lives with Ashley and their two children.

He is the first person to file their papers in North Kent.

Current Councillors Leon Leclair and Joe Faas have yet to state their intentions about running in this election.

Election day is October 22, 2018.
