Brown’s Auto Supply provides $5,000 to The Final Push

Justin Brown, General Manager, Brown’s Auto Supply, presented a cheque for $5,000 to Mary Lou Crowley, Executive Director, Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and Dan Van Moorsel, organizer of The Final Push.

The Final Push, a 1000km bike ride taking place May 23 to May 28 th is raising funds and awareness for the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s (CKHA) $6.9 million Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign. The campaign is raising funds to purchase 17 new pieces of equipment for CKHA’s Chatham and Wallaceburg hospital sites, including a new CT Scan.

Dave Depencier and Dan Van Moorsel will be riding throughout Southwestern Ontario over 6 days, connecting with the home building associations along the route. They are asking the community to support their ride by donating online at www.thefinalpush.ca, or by providing a corporate sponsorship towards the event.

They are currently at 78% of their $100,000 event fundraising goal.

The Final Push ride kickoff is taking place Wednesday, May 23 from CKHA’s Wallaceburg hospital site at 7:00 a.m.

The community is invited to attend the event to help send Dave and Dan on their way.

The $6.9 million Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign concludes on May 28.

Victoria Day Municipal Holiday Hours

Municipal offices and most services will be CLOSED Monday, May 21, 2018 in recognition of Victoria Day.

Other services are scheduled as follows:

EMERGENCY SERVICES – Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day, every day, and are accessible by dialling “911” for emergency calls only.

LIBRARIES – All branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will be closed Monday, May 21. Administration offices will be closed.

RECREATION FACILITY OPERATIONS – Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool are open Saturday and Sunday with regular schedules and will be closed on the holiday Monday.

CHATHAM CAPITOL THEATRE – Contact the department directly.

CEMETERY OPERATIONS – During this time, Cemeteries staff will be available on call for funeral homes who are in need of at-need lot sales or interment orders.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING – Collection services will be delayed by one day the week of May 21. Please refer to the Recycling and Waste Collection Guide for further details.

TRANSFER STATIONS – The Harwich and Wallaceburg Transfer Stations will be closed Monday, May 21. All other transfer stations will be open regular hours.

LEAF & YARD DEPOTS – All Leaf and Yard Depots will be closed.

PROVINCIAL OFFENCES COURT- The Provincial Offences Court will be closed on Victoria Day and will re-open on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. Please note that during office closures fines can continue to be paid on-line at www.paytickets.ca

CK TRANSIT – CK Transit services will not be operating with the exception of the Seasonal Interurban Transit Route S1 serving Chatham, Erieau and Mitchell Bay with stops in Grande Point, Pain Court, Charing Cross and Blenheim. This route starts this Friday May 18 and operates every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday including Victoria Day, Civic Holiday and Labour Day between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES BUILDING – The Health and Family Services building, including the offices of Public Health, Employment & Social Services, Housing Services and Child Care and Early Years will be closed Monday, May 21, reopening Tuesday, May 22. The Employment Resource Centres located at 240 King Street West, Chatham and 786 Dufferin Avenue, Wallaceburg, will also be closed during this time.

RIVERVIEW GARDENS – Reception and administrative offices will be closed May 21, but services, activities and visiting hours continue as normal. Nursing staff can be reached 24/7 by calling 519-352-4823.

PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION (PUC) at 325 Grand Avenue East will be closed Monday. The emergency call number is 519-352-6300.

ENTEGRUS at 320 Queen Street will be closed Monday.

CHATHAM-KENT TOURISM office will be closed Monday, May 21. Information may be accessed online at www.visitck.ca anytime.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Services Altered for Victoria Day 2018

Some healthcare services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg Sites will be altered on Monday, May 21, 2018 in recognition of the Victoria Day holiday.

Routine X-rays, electrocardiograms (EKG), and ultrasounds will not be available on Monday, May 21, 2018. These departments will be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.

Ambulatory Care Services, Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services, Pre-Surgical Screening Services, Diabetes Education Centre, the TIA and CAD Clinics, Pulmonary Function Lab, Outpatient Lab Services, Health Records and Patient Appointment Offices will be closed on Monday, May 21, 2018.

The Chatham-Kent Mental Health & Addictions Program will be closed on Monday, May 21, 2018. For any immediate crisis, please call the crisis line at 1-866-299-7447 or visit your nearest Emergency Room.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham Site, will be closed on Monday, May 21, 2018.

The Oncology/Chemotherapy Department will be closed on Monday, May 21, 2018.

The Business Office and Cashier’s Office will be closed on Monday, May 21, 2018. Please note there are two bill changers in the building to accommodate change for coin.

Hemodialysis Care will be open on Monday, May 21, 2018.

The Emergency Departments located at Chatham and Wallaceburg hospital sites are open 24 hours daily.
