Disassembled shotgun, heroin seized during arrest

A disassembled shotgun and drugs were seized during arrest on Monday night.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege that last night, just before midnight, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Longwoods Road.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was currently bound by a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The man was arrested for breaching his curfew, police say.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of heroin, police allege.

Drug paraphernalia, cash, cocaine, marijuana and three separate parts of a disassembled shot gun were located in the vehicle.

The man is currently bound by a prohibition order with conditions not to possess any firearm.

The 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged with three counts of failing to comply, five weapon related offences and three counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
