Gary ‘Barney’ Almas of Sarnia and formerly of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the age of 72.
Gary is the son of the late Charles & Marceline (Labadie) Almas. Loving father of Chris Almas (Lisa), Kelly Rodey (Jay), Jennifer Nutt (Kelly) and Colleen Macdonald (Bill). Dear grandfather of Ryan, Dylan, Scotia, Sydney, Paige, Payton and Parker and great grandfather to Ella and Lucas. Brother of Dan (Helen) and the late Diana (John). Companion of Deborah Dubuque. Gary was a carpenter by trade who had retired from Imperial Oil in 2006.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME’s Reception Centre, 416 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Saturday, June 2 from Noon – 2 PM with an informal gathering to follow at Crabby Joe’s. Interment in Riverview Cemetery at a prior date.
