Wallaceburg man charged for breaching curfew

A Wallaceburg man faces charges after allegedly breaching his curfew.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on September 1, 2017 a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to abide by a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Police allege early Wednesday morning, around 1:20 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed the man acting suspicious around a vehicle on Raleigh Street in Chatham.

Upon seeing the cruiser, the man quickly began walking away from the vehicle.

The officer recognized the man and confirmed that he was still currently bound by a curfew.

The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with failing to comply.

He was released pending a future court date of June 13, 2018.
