Red Devils top Point Edward at home

The Wallaceburg Red Devils topped the Point Edward Pacers on Thursday night in Wallaceburg, by a score of 12-7.

Tyler Davis, an affiliate player with the squad, had his best game of the season with a 6-point night, 4 goals and 2 assists.

Marshall Powless had 6 points, all assists, while Tyler Brown had 3 goals and 2 assists for 5 points.

Kyle Dawson scored 3 more goals and added 1 assist.

Dawson now has an Ontario Junior ‘B’ Lacrosse Association leading 42 goals on the season. His 66 points overall ranks him second in the entire league.

Brothers Lucas and Noble Jacobs squared off once again in net.

Noble, Wallaceburg’s former starting goalie and the Pacers current goalie, made 53 saves in a losing effort.

Lucas stopped 27 shots to earn the victory over his older brother.

MacCoy Abrams and Cory Lucier also scored for Wallaceburg, who improved to 11-2 on the season.

Community Living Wallaceburg were the special guests on Thursday night, as they gave away some prizes, helped provide stamps at the gate and took part in the ceremonial ball drop before the game.

The Devils remain in first place in the Far West Division with 22 points, compared to Windsor’s 10-3 record and 20 points on the year. However, both of Wallaceburg’s losses on the season have come at the hands of the Clippers.

Wallaceburg will have their final regular season game at home on Saturday at 4 p.m. when the London Blue Devils come to town.

Wallaceburg will finish the regular season with six straight roads games.
