Blue Water Vocal Ensemble performing in Wallaceburg

The Blue Water Vocal Ensemble is presenting ‘Something Old, Something New: An Evening of Music’ tonight, May 25, at St. James Anglican Church in Wallaceburg.

The show is free is is begins at 7:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

In September of 2017, with the assistance of the Wallaceburg and District Council for the arts, a group of singers from the Wallaceburg and Lambton/Kent area gathered for the purpose of singing four part harmony, and performing for the joy of the communities.

In 2017, the ensemble performed six concerts in the Wallaceburg and Chatham area.

Their concerts also feature guest soloists.

At this concert we will have performances by John Worthington, Joan Carther, Neil MacFadyen and others.

Youth Art Show in Wallaceburg

The Wallaceburg and District Museum’s Youth Art Show is set to be displayed starting today.

The exhibition will run from May 25 to June 22, 2018.

All the work submitted was to be accepted as the Museum’s goal is to inspire and foster creativity among the youth of Wallaceburg.

All visual art formats were accepted, including, but not limited to: pen and ink, watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel, charcoal, multi-media, stained glass, photography, and sculpture.

There will be an awards ceremony event on June 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Awards will be given to the top two entries per grade.

Explosion in Mississauga, 15 injured, suspects sought

Regional Police Chief Jennifer Evans will be addressing the media this morniong with regard to a restaurant explosion that occurred in the area of Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue in the City of Mississauga on Friday May 25, 2018.

The purpose of the press conference is to provide an update, answer questions, and appeal for witnesses regarding the investigation.
