Randy McNeil has added his name to the Municipal Election mix in Ward 5 – Wallaceburg.

The former Wallaceburg town Councillor prior to amalgamation filed his papers at the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre on Friday, June 1.

“I have spent nine years on Wallaceburg council in the years immediately prior to amalgamation,” McNeil said in a media release.

“I am a CPA by trade with over 40 years of experience in financial management. My background on council has proven to be an advocate for fiscal responsibility, making sure that every tax payer dollar is spent wisely and getting the most return on investment.”

McNeil said because of his career and the travel that I have had over the past years, he was unable to stay involved in the politics of the community.

“However, with my career winding down, I would love to become involved again and represent the people of Chatham-Kent Ward 5 as their councillor.”

McNeil is the fifth person to file in Ward 5 – Wallaceburg.

Aaron Hall, Chris Glassford, Carmen McGregor and Nick Cadotte are all vying for one of two spots representing Ward 5.

Current Counc. Jeff Wesley says he is not running in this election.

The Municipality goes to the polls on October 22, 2018.
