Impaired driving charge laid in Mitchell’s Bay

Impaired driving charges were laid in Mitchell’s Bay on the weekend.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on June 2, 2018 in Mitchell’s Bay a Sombra man was allegedly operating a motor vehicle and struck a trailer, which then struck another vehicle.

The driver failed to remain and then returned to scene and was subsequently arrested for impaired, police allege.

The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where breathalyzer testing was conducted resulting in the accused being charged with operating a motor Vehicle in excess of 80mgs of alcohol.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the man’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The male was released with a future court date.
