Shoplifting suspect arrested in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege that on April 3 police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham.

The man concealed meat in his pants and exited the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise.

Upon being placed under arrest outside the store by the Loss Prevention officer, the man fled on foot.

The man was identified by police and another warrant was issued for his arrest.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the man at Walmart in Wallaceburg and he was arrested on the outstanding warrants.

The 36-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
