Red Devils top the Spartans, big week ahead

The Wallaceburg Red Devils took care of business on the road this past weekend, as they look forward to an important week ahead.

Wallaceburg topped the St. Catharines Spartans on Saturday by a score of 12-5.

Newly acquired forward Cory Burr led the way for the Red Devils with a 7-point game, scoring 4 goals and adding 3 assists.

Kyle Dawson scored 2 goals and added 3 assists, Tyler Brown had 1 goal and 4 assists and Marshall Powless recorded 5 assists for Wallaceburg.

Brayden Bell made 21 saves and allowed 2 goals in two periods of play.

Lucas Jacobs made 14 saves and allowed 3 goals in one period of action for Wallaceburg.

After already clinching a playoff berth, Wallaceburg will wrap-up the regular season this week with three games.

Wallaceburg will visit Point Edward on Tuesday, their heated rival Windsor Clippers on Thursday and Six Nations on Friday.

All three games start at 8 p.m.

Wallaceburg is currently is first place in the Far West Division of the Ontario Junior ‘B’ Lacrosse League with a 15-2 record.
