Suspect kicks and spits on officers during arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege on Friday evening around 6:30 p.m. police responded to an address on Gray Street in Chatham due to a man that was destroying property inside the residence.

As police attempted to aid the man who had a visible injury to his arm, he kicked one officer and spit on two others, police allege.

The 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.

He was transported to CKPS Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
