Firefighter recruitment info session upcoming

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services is hiring career firefighters and will be holding an information session on June 23rd, 2018 for those interested in applying.

The session will be held at 9 a.m. at the Civic Centre, 315 King Street West, Chatham, in the Council Chambers.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services officiuals say Chatham-Kent firefighters are role models and leaders within their organization and community.

“We are looking for applicants with skills in a variety of fields,” Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services officials say.

“If you have any of the qualifications listed below and are interested in becoming a firefighter, please attend the information session.”

the qualification, include:

– Journeyman certificate

– Firefighter training

– Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification

– Experience as a full-time firefighter; including military, seasonal, forestry, paid on call, volunteer
Lifeguard, ski patrol, search and rescue

– Experience in Emergency Services or uniformed Public Servant roles (Law Enforcement, Military, Corrections, Park Ranger, Peace Officer)

– Cadet Program (Fire, Police, Sea, Air, Army, etc)

Anyone who is interested in becoming a career firefighter is encouraged to attend on June 23rd to hear a brief presentation outlining the process for recruitment and have questions answered by fire administration.

As an inclusive department, everyone is welcome, including students who are still in school and searching for their career path.
