Let’s Eat Together Today!

Join us at Basso’s No Frills! We will have free eats for the Community on this day.  Donations are being accepted for PC Children’s Charity.

It’s at the table where we can turn a house into a home, a stranger into a friend, and a village into a community. But more than anything, eating together simply connects us. And our world can use a little more connection right now.
This year, let’s eat together on June 22nd.

According to a recent survey by President’s Choice®, almost half (42%) of all Canadians eat lunch alone every day at work, and two-thirds eat lunch alone at least three times during each work week*. Many Canadians grow up eating with family and friends whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. However as young people transition into adulthood, they seem to lose those strong communal ties that are created through eating together. Today, Canadians have adopted eating alone as the new normal.

The #EatTogether mission has expanded in 2018 to capture how everyday Canadians eat together in their lives. Loblaw challenged seven amateur Canadian filmmakers to capture what #EatTogether means to them. All seven filmmakers returned with stories that depicted many eating together from diverse and unique vantage points. The films featured stories that span the country and tell stories of hospitality, family history, honoured tradition, inclusion and generosity.

Join us on June 22nd for Eat Together Day and stay tuned in June to see a few of these films also featured pre-show at Cineplex theatres!
