Matthews: Donald Albert a resident of Thamesville passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at Four Counties Health Sciences, Newbury at the age of 73.
Born in Tillsonburg, son of the late Albert & Nellie (Roszell) Matthews. Don was a past member of the Bothwell Slo-Boys Hockey League. He loved the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. Beloved husband of Joyce (Shortt) Matthews. Loving father of Robin Matthews, Tracy Lawrence (Carl), Mark Matthews, Darcy Matthews (Tammy) and Tyler Matthews. Proud grandpa of Shawn (Allie), Stacey, Natasha, Carson, Alicia (Kyle), Kristen, Brianna, Sheldon, Shae-Lynn, James, Samantha and Landon, Cherished great grandpa of Logan, Kylee, Mariah and Carter. Dear brother of Carol Koechlin (Arnd). Fondly remembered by Angela Simpson. Predeceased by son Darrell Matthews and sisters Patricia Rayson and Betty Forbes.
The Matthews family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 1 p.m. Interment in Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville.
