The Board of Trustees has awarded a contract for renovations to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School.
This is Phase 2 of work to refurbish the site as the new home of Catholic French Immersion in Chatham.
The work will include installation of a new incoming water service, the renewal of the exterior brick wall of the school and construction of a new barrier-free universal washroom.
The contract has been awarded to Elmara Construction Company Limited of Tecumseh at a total cost of $1,365,666.
The work will be completed from now through November of this year.
Phase 3 will include upgrades to the administration office and front entrance, public address system and clock upgrades, gym floor replacement, instructional and operational interior upgrades, school rebranding, mechanical equipment upgrades and renovations to existing washrooms and will be completed beginning next year.
Phase 1 of the project, which was completed last year, included a retrofit and interior renovations to the child care area, wi-fi expansion, the demolition of the Chatham Facility Services building, parking lot upgrades and landscape improvements.
