Grande Pointe resident Patricia Sylvain has filed her nomination papers and is running for the position of Councillor in Ward 4 – North Kent.

Sylvain, 57, a healthcare business developer for Gordon Food Service, says she wants to help her community and promote a vision of excellence for Chatham-Kent.

“I think we are ready to unleash a new culture change that will see exceptional growth in our area,” Sylvain said in a press release.

“I will focus on promoting agri-business, healthy living, and opportunities for economic growth. It is imperative to have a strategic approach to this… including having partnerships with private companies and Provincial and Federal governments.”

Sylvain added: “We have many beautiful assets in Chatham-Kent, and particularly in Ward 4. We need enthusiasm, excellent execution, engaged leadership, empowered staff, and transformation will occur naturally.”

Sylvain has lived in Chatham-Kent her entire life, was born and raised in Chatham and then moved to the Grande Pointe area 40 years ago.

Sylvain joins Joey Cyples, Dylan Robert McLay and Steven Scott as candidates in North Kent.

Current Coun. Leon Leclair has stated he will not be seeking re-election.

The other incumbent Coun. Joe Faas has yet to state his intentions.

Election day is October 22, 2018.
