Dresden man faces breach, mischief and theft charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege on May 30, 2018 a man was released from Court with several conditions.

Two of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Dresden woman or be within 100 meters of her, police say.

Police allege on July 2, 2018 the man attended the woman’s residence and attempted to speak with her.

As the woman tried to leave, the man allegedly damaged her vehicle and grabbed her cell phone preventing her from calling police.

The woman drove to a family member’s home for help.

The man fled on foot prior to police arrival and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

On Tuesday afternoon, the 23-year-old Dresden man was taken into custody.

He has been charged with two counts of failing to comply, mischief over $5,000, theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.
