Charges laid after rollover crash on Highway 40

A Chatham woman faces careless driving charges after a rollover crash on Highway 40, between Wallaceburg and Chatham.

OPP officials say on July 12, 2018, around 4 p.m. Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle rollover collision on Highway 40 near Countyview Line.

Police allege investigation revealed the driver of a southbound motor vehicle had lost control, rolled over and came to rest in the west ditch.

Both the female driver and male passenger of the motor vehicle suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

As a result, the female driver, a 28-year-old from Chatham, was charged with careless driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
