First Responders hosting ‘Camp Sirens’
During the week of July 23 – 27, 2018, Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in partnership with Chatham-Kent Police Service (C.K.P.S.), Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services and Medavie EMS will be hosting Camp Sirens 2018 for youth ages 12-13 years-old.
Camp Sirens will motivate young people to be outstanding citizens through law enforcement and first responder education. Targeting students before high school, this program is a first responder’s academy for young people. Our children are the community leaders of tomorrow. We wish to instill an appreciation and respect for first responders and their role in society.
Participants in Camp Sirens will get an up-close look at life as a first responder.
Starting on Monday, July 23, 2018 the youth will be sworn-in as honorary first responders.
Camp Sirens will include:
– Chatham-Kent OPP detachment and Identification tour
– Chatham-Kent Fire Station tour and hands-on firefighter activities
– Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Services/K9/CIRT/Ident presentations
– Search and Rescue presentation
– Medavie EMS Station and Communications Centre tour
– Maple City CrossFit team building exercises
Graduation will take place at St Clair College on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
