New events & changes for WAMBO 30

The Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing (WAMBO) is excited to add some new events to their already packed schedule during the second weekend in August.

“Our committee has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare for our 30th annual event this summer,” says Bill Wolsing, chair of WAMBO 30.

“Not only will we have our usual lineup of cars, boats, fire trucks, musical entertainment, vendors, toys, soap box derby, and much more… we’ve also added some exciting new features.”

The WAMBO committee is also pleased to announce that registration is FREE for all vehicle displays this year. Also, running the car show once again, after a one-year hiatus, is Wallaceburg resident, Matt Thomas, who had run the car show for 10 years previously.

“I’m excited to be back and running the Terry Glover Memorial Cruise on the Friday night and the Antique Car Show in downtown Wallaceburg all-day on Saturday,” Thomas said.

“The route on Friday night is going back to what people have come to enjoy… starting at Canadian Tire, stopping at the Wallaceburg nursing homes, heading through downtown James Street and finally going to Dresden.”

Thomas added: “We’re hoping to pack the downtown core on Saturday (August 11) for the Antique car show. Vehicles from every year, make and model will be allowed to enter the show this year, with free registration for all.”

Thomas said awards will be handed out for iCars (1990 and newer) and for WAMBO Original Classes (pre-1930 to 1989, original and modified.) Some specialty awards are also being added for the 30th annual event.

Some of the new events, include:
