911 hang-up in Wallaceburg leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege in August 2017, a man was released from custody with conditions.

Two of his conditions were not to communicate or be within a certain distance of a woman that was known to him.

On Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 4 p.m. police responded to that woman’s residence at an apartment complex on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg due to a 9-1-1 hang up call.

Upon the officer’s arrival, they located the man inside her unit.

As the officers attempted to arrest the man, he resisted and tried to run away, police allege.

The 38-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply and resist arrest.

In addition, he was arrested on an out-of-town warrant.

The man was then transported to CKPS Headquarters Unit where he was held for a bail hearing.
