Highway 40, between Whitebread Line and Dufferein Avenue, is closed following a fatal crash just outside of Wallaceburg.
Lambton OPP officials say on August 28 around 1:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chatham-Kent Police Service, Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services, and Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 40 at Langstaff Line.
A southbound tractor trailer collided with an eastbound motor vehicle, police say.
As a result of the collision, both drivers were transported to hospital.
One of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.
OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) is currently on scene investigating the collision.
Highway 40 between Whitebread Line and Dufferin Avenue will be closed for approximately six hours.
Motorists will have to find alternative routes.
